As if life hasn't given me enough to deal with...
Dad is back in the hospital. He was feeling chest pains when he picked up mom from work. The hospital is keeping him overnight for observation, so it's probably not another heart attack.
Still... I didn't need this...

Date: 2009-08-06 02:11 pm (UTC)I'm not a doctor, but from what I recall from my EMT classes, heart-related chest pain (angina) that isn't a heart attack (myocardial infarction) is caused when the heart isn't getting enough oxygen. In your dad's case, because the blood flow to the heart muscle is restricted. They'll likely tell him he needs to manage his stress better and take it easier physically. Until he can get his bypass and provide a better blood flow to his heart, the only thing he can do is not work that heart muscle so much that it needs oxygen it can't get.
Of course, none of that information actually does anything to change your situation and you probably either already know that or could look it up for yourself. But I am Wiki Woman, fighting evil and dispensing
justicehope with trivia. It's what I do because I can't do anything else to make things better.
